SCULPTURE BY THE LAKE

SAT 6 & SUN 7 NOVEMBER 2004
NEIL HAWKINS PARK - LAKE JOONDALUP

Sculpture project in bush land surrounding Lake Joondalup.

Art students & professional artists from Central and Swan TAFE will be creating temporary artworks in Yellagonga Regional Park around Lake Joondalup.
The artworks will be created using materials and processes that respect the conservation values of the park and reflect the natural and cultural heritage of the area.

The artworks will respond to the environment and history of the landscape and address some of the interpretive themes that have been identified by CALM in the Yellagonga Regional Management Plan.

Artists have the opportunity to respond to a variety of stimulus – artworks may reference the built or natural landscape, aboriginal or non-aboriginal cultural heritage, flora or fauna of the park.

Artworks are only on display to the public Sat 6 & Sun 7 November, maps of artwork locations available from Neil Hawkins Park and people can take a self-guided walk.
This project is supported by the City of Joondalup,
Central & Swan TAFE and the Department of Conservation and Land Management.
